World Radiocommunication Conference 2023 (WRC-23) Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 20 – December 15, 2023
The World Radiocommunication Conferences (WRC) are held every 3-4 years to review the Radio Regulations, an international treaty on the use of the radio-frequency spectrum and satellite orbits. These conferences adjust the Regulations based on an agenda set by the ITU Council, considering recommendations from previous WRCs. The general agenda is prepared 4-6 years in advance and finalized two years before each conference with the approval of the majority of Member States. The WRC can revise the Regulations, address global radiocommunication issues, oversee the activities of the Radiocommunication Bureau and the Radiocommunication Regulation Board, and define study topics for future meetings. The Conference Preparatory Meeting (CPM) compiles contributions to guide the work of the conferences.
